Welcome to the Blue Door Atelier


 Hello!  I'm Mim (aka Miriam Daniel).  Open the door, and join me in the Blue Door Atelier.  An atelier is a studio or workshop set up to produce work.  This is the latest incarnation of my creative adventures.  Here you will be able to see what I'm creating in my studio, what inspires me, opportunities to play and create with me, and other whimsies that catch my attention.  Sign up for my NEWSLETTER so you don't miss a thing!

Here I am in July 2019, in Fisterra, Spain, at the end of the Earth (according to ancient Romans) at the end of the Camino de Santiago--a 500 mile hike across Spain.  My 10 year old son, Sam, took this photo.  He was my hiking companion, and he is often my studio buddy.  I love the pure joy on my face as the sun is just beginning to descend. 

My creative work is largely intuitive, inspired by nature, and sent out into the world as a gift of positivity and hope for others to enjoy.  I find great satisfaction in sharing creative experiences and passionately shining a light so that others can find their own creative path, free of judgement.

Fast forward to August 2024, and I am recharging after an exceptionally challenging year.  I have stepped away from my full time teaching job, and I am creating multiple streams of income through my experience (yep, I'm getting old!) and my creative and quirky twist on life.  So if you want to support my work, invite me to work with you or your group in creative community building, curating an art or

Simple Wonders: Looking Toward 2024

  As I review the past year or so, I know that I took an approach toward art and life of throwing everything up on the wall and seeing what would stick.  I tried many different things.  I put many different offerings into the world.  I ran from one thing to another.  It has been exhausting and honestly unfulfilling.  It's difficult to acknowledge that I'm putting a creative part of myself out into the world, and there are no takers.  I know something has to change, but it takes time to pause, evaluate, and reset.  I'm trying to do some of that right now.
