Welcome 2024: Renewed Yoga Offerings

The new year is filled with optimism and hope and possibilities.  A goal I have for this year is to build a larger and more interactive community around my passions of art, education yoga and hiking.  I'm not clear on all the pragmatic applications, but I am clear that this is a path forward that we can share.  I will be providing opportunities for us to gather and grow together.

The first opportunity I'm bringing forward is a renewal of my yoga offerings.  I would like to expand this very loyal micro-community, so that we can share the benefits of this gentle hatha style yoga with more human beings.  In the process I'm certain we will also deepen the benefits for ourselves.

Consider this your special invitation from me to you!

Thursday evening, 7 p.m. is a good hour of mindful movement geared at breathing in and out with our whole being to release tension and stress and expand flexibility of movement and thinking.

Saturday morning, 9 a.m. is a good hour of attention on poses that will bring more balance through a consistent rhythm of poses that work from head to toes.

Both offerings are similar and will include a bit of inspiration on integrating this work so that you can reap the fullest benefits of your practice.  Everyone is welcome!  I love sharing yoga with everyone who want to give it a try.  Many poses can be modified for chairs or limited mobility.

We practice yoga in thefirst floor main gallery of White Rabbit Galleries.  It's filled with colorful and interesting art that changes about every six weeks.  White Rabbit is a community art center that has multiple gallery spaces, a classroom, a consignment shop, resident artists and studio space.  We are usually the only people in the building when class is scheduled.  The door opens about 15 minutes before class and is locked about 10 minutes after class begins.

How much does it cost?  The yoga classes I offer are "pay what you can," with a suggested amount of $10 per session.  There is a little gold bucket where you put the money.  Feel free to make change there, too. You are always welcome to pay more or less, depending on your financial situation and the value of the experience for you.  If you don't want to bring cash, feel free to leave some moolah at my Paypal account.  My email attached is braveteachermim@gmail.com, and I'm listed as Miriam Daniel.   Here is the QR code:

What to bring?  Bring yourself in comfortable clothes.  For most people this means stretchable and breathable clothing.  Bring a yoga mat.  It can be very affordable such as the mats and Five Below.  (I have a couple mats that can be borrowed until you get your own.  I recommend bringing water, but you can also buy a bottle of water at the gallery.  Hydrating during and after practice is vital to receiving the fullest benefits of cleansing with yoga.

Parking is available on the street and in the lot just west of the building.  There are reserved signs, but those don't apply during the times we hold class.  (The back two rows closest to the city building are always reserved the police vehicles.)

Please feel free to bring friends.  It's such a healthy way to deepen relationships.  After yoga you can walk one block north to walk around beautiful Lake Anna, or you can cross the street for your favorite coffee or teach drink at Kave.  There are also a variety of restaurants and breweries within a couple blocks.

Come on out and give yoga a try!
